August 2004

Sunday-August 22

The weather was terrible when the match finally got started. Everyone was on one posse so we could stay drier under the covered saloon stage. By the time we had finished 2 stages the weather was better so we moved to the jail and finished 2 more stages.

Unfortunately, I never got the score sheets so I have not scores to post. Hopefully someone has them and I can post them later.

Link of the week: I found this link about lever guns that has a lot of information on including a forum that is active. www.leverguns.com

Sunday-August 8

Only 17 cowboys and cowgirls showed up on another great day of shooting with 15 finishing. Jailer Jake left early with Sodbuster having rifle problems trouble on the last two stages. He finally got the rifle working and then forgot to load his pistols when he came up to shoot. About that time he decided to call it quits for the day.

Sunday-July 25

The weather was great with 27 cowboy and cowgirls starting the match and 26 finishing. We divided into 3 posses. Since we didn't stop for lunch, we finished earlier than usual. Since it was hot, that worked out great.

A special note to Kanishu Kid (aka: the mayor). Even though you raised my water and sewer rates by 40%, I still gave you the score you earned.

April 2004

Sunday-April 25

Seemed like everyone wanted to be a cowboy, because 27 people showed up to have some fun. The weather cooperated and it turned out to be a perfect day with lunch being served.

After the match, I stopped by Jack Pines range where he and several friend were shooting the their long range 45-70 black powder Sharps and a Rolling Block. They let me shoot a few rounds and I succeeded in hitting the 300 yard gong 3 times in a row. I got to get myself one of these. I had brought my Marlin 45-70 1895 CB along. I worked great at 150 yard but could not adjust the sights enough for 300 yards

No one could find the scores from April 11. If someone has them, please send them to me so that I may post them.

Sunday-April 11

The weather on Easter turned out to be great. I decided to try something different and went to Noxon, Montana to shoot with the Rocky Mountain Rangers. They have about 30 members but since it was a holiday, the turn out was low. Considerable work has been put into their range and it looks great. They shoot on the 2nd Saturday and Sunday of the month. They are a great bunch of cowboys and I am sure you would enjoy shooting with them some time. I took some photos of the shoot and they have been posted. For more information, the club is listed in the Club Round Up page.

A new feature was sent in by Kanisku Kid and has been posted

I have not received the scores for the shoot. I will post them as soon as I get them. --Doc Bandit

El Fago sent in this photo. Now, if only someone could make this in a Single Action Army.

The Drink of Champions???????

I Be The Cook didn't show up do Drifter cooked.

Hopefully everyone survived

Sunday-March 14

Sunday-January 11

Even though there was a little snow (12 in.) on the ground, 19 cowboys showed up to have fun and shot 3 stages. We could of shot more but every one was on 1 posse and it took a long time to get though the stages. I Be The Cook was there hand provided lunch. However, he did not finish all the stages.

In honor of the passing of Tennessee Sam, all 19 of us lined up and gave him a 76 shotgun salute.

Cap'n Crump finally sold the Winchester and got a new Stainless Steel Marlin 94. About time!!!

I have no explanation for this last photo except that Drifter must have taken up sniffing gun powder or he still don't know where a shotshell belongs. Therefore, I will let you draw your own conclusions. If you would like to share you thoughts, E-mail me at tingrin@netw.com

As you may or may not know, our pard, Tennessee Sam passed on Tuesday night, he'll surely be missed.

The funeral will be held at Hennessey's 1315 N. Pines at 11AM on Saturday Jan 3rd with a pot-luck following.

He requested we all wear our cowboy gear, so if you can, be there and we'll give him a big "yeehaw" to start off his next cattle drive.
