The hidden gem within Kristina Från Duvemåla is Min Astrakan.

I play this song repeatedly, and yet I have not hardened to its charms.  The structure of the song keeps a listener coming back, perhaps because although it ascends to an emotional peak, it never crosses over into a denouement.  Its surface is grand and affirming, but its melancholy is just under the surface, and remains in the ear and the heart.

So, what song in the B & B repertoire is (IMHO) most similar in effect?
