presentationsThis slide presentation was produced for Weyerhauser to introduce a new color image enhancement system to prospective customers and to encourage present customers to upgrade to new system.
"Control with Confidence"
Visual: Short series of quick-changing black and white photos of the interior of a boiler in operation. Hold on final shot.
Audio:NARRATION: In 1982, Weyerhauser scientists developed the first black and white optically-based imaging system designed to furnish the first clear pictures of the smelt bed.
Visual:Wipe black and white shot boiler interior to full color.
Audio:MUSIC: Upbeat and bright. VOICE-OVER NARRATION: Now we've added something dramatically new: Color.
Visual:TYPE: "Control with Confidence" over above shot of boiler interior.
Audio:VOICE-OVER NARRATION: Because color will enhance the visual information you need to control your recovery boiler with confidence.
Visual:Series of fast-changing quick cuts of boiler interior first in black and white followed by color shot.
Audio:VOICE-OVER NARRATION: The human eye can differentiate between ten million shades of color, but between fewer than two hundred and fifty shades of grey.
Visual:Medium shot of operator viewing system monitor followed by close-up of black and white image on monitor to represent smelt bed shape and temperature image. Quickly changes to color.
Audio:VOICE-OVER NARRATION: That's why our new COLORPLUS Image Enhancement System uses color images: to provide your boiler operator with a clearer understanding of smelt bed shapes and heat variations.
Visual:Close-up shot of smelt bed in black and white and then progressive, step-wise color additions until image obtains full color.
Audio:VOICE-OVER NARRATION: The video output is taken from a black and white, high-temperature imaging system camera and digitized. Colors are then assigned to various grey levels within the image. Different colors correspond to different heat levels. From the image, your operator can clearly identify hot and cool regions, and the shape of the smelt bed itself.
Visual:Close-up shot of operator pushing unit selector button, followed by series of close-ups of four different control panel settings: B&W, shape, shape & temperature, temperature.
Audio:VOICE-OVER NARRATION: Pushbuttons on the front panel of the COLORPLUS unit makes color setting changes easy. LED's show which setting is currently being viewed. The operator chooses the setting he wants to give him a clear view of the smelt bed shape, the shape plus temperature, or the temperature alone.
Visual:Medium shot of COLORPLUS unit being installed. Close-up shot of monitor image changing from black and white to color.
Audio:VOICE-OVER NARRATION:The COLORPLUS unit can receive any standard black and white camera signal and input to almost any color monitor. And, because it's less than three inches high, the unit will fit under most standard monitors.
Visual:Long shot of operator and boiler. Series of increasingly closer shots to medium shot of operator making boiler adjustments.
Audio:VOICE-OVER NARRATION: With a continuous, online color view of the smelt bed, your operator can control liquor firing and air supply parameters with confidence. Than means production savings, increased reduction efficiency, and improved boiler operation safety.
Visual:Full screen color image of smelt bed. TYPE: "ColorPlus"
Audio:VOICE-OVER NARRATION:The COLORPLUS Image Enhancement System. It will give you the control you need to maximized your recovery boiler operation.

Audio:MUSIC: Up, and fade.
