CREATE A MASTERPIECE ON STARLINER

Stow, Ohio, 15 June 1989 -- Again this year, MACtac Printing Products, Stow, Ohio is calling for entries in the 1990 StarLiner^tm Premier Print Awards competition. It's the only major contest just for pressure sensitive print creations, and the first to compare with the great PIA awards.
   If you're a print designer, your masterpiece on MACtac StarLiner pressure sensitives can put cash in your pocket and an award on your wall. Plus, the national recognition your winning design deserves.
   You're invited to send MACtac your best work printed on StarLiner. Self-adhesive labels of all kinds, for packaging, product identification, posters, signs, bumper stickers, name tags -- any great idea printed on StarLiner is eligible.
   One color, multicolor, process, foil stamp, embossures, die-cuts -- you can do them all with StarLiner's great paper, film and foil selection. And every one can be in the running. There are no entry fees, so send in as many entries as you like.
   MACtac's panel of printing and design professionals will judge entries on creativity and craftsmanship. Then they'll pick the best in separate designer and printer divisions. The three categories for each division are one or two colors, three or more colors, and most unusual application.
   The masterpiece entry will receive a Special Judges' Award as the best "all around" entry. The winner will be awarded a prize of $1000 and an award plate.
   Winners in both divisions will carry away $500 for first place, $300 for second, and $100 for third place, plus some handsome award plaques for the wall.
   Paper merchants salespersons will receive the same cash prizes as their winning printers and/or designers in both divisions and all categories.
   All winners will have their work showcased nationally in the StarLiner Premier Print Awards Annual, published in March, 1991.
   Entry deadline is December 31, 1990.

MASTERPIECES CREATED ON STARLINER

   John Coy of John Coy Design took MACtac literally when we invited the creative folks in our business to "create a masterpiece" on StarLiner for our Premier Print Awards competition. In fact, he won the Best of Show last year for his series of labels which reproduced six masterpieces from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
   The labels show museum art pieces, each individually kiss-cut, for use on museum promotional material. They were printed on Magic^tm White Gloss, Opaque StarLiner stock by S & P Printing in Los Angeles.
   The competition judges noted the "excellent combination of function and aesthetics, the good ink coverage, the fine reproduction of original art and the nice range of subtle colors". The judges liked the entry so much they also awarded it the top prize in the printing division.
